Lambert Construction Team Take on the Great North Run for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust
On the 10th of September members of the Lambert Construction team will be running the Great North Run in aid of the Dragonfly Cancer Trust.
The Great North Run, which has been running for the past 42 years, stretches 13.1 miles from Newcastle City Centre through to the coastal town of South Shields and every year more and more people travel up North to take part.
This year four members of the Lambert Construction team, Phil, Martin, Scott, and Construction Director Ian, are taking on the challenge and fundraising for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust.
The Dragonfly Cancer Trust is a charity that provides palliative care for young cancer patients under the age of 25. This organisation focuses on memory-making, emotional support and works to help make each moment matter for patients and their loved ones through creative therapy, keepsakes, cash gifts, and support from the dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
We are proud to say that Ian is a trustee of the Dragonfly Cancer Trust, and taking part in the Great North Run is not the first time Ian has supported the charity. Back in 2021, Ian completed a 170-mile triathlon for the organisation, raising an impressive £6,500.
To bring his fundraising total up to around £10,000, last year Ian completed a self-created 1000-mile triathlon for the trust over 12 days, swimming, cycling and running from the Scottish Highlands down to Bristol.
This certainly isn’t the first time Ian and the team have supported the trust and won’t be the last.
We would like to wish the team members taking part in the 2023 Great North Run good luck and if you would like to find out how you can support the trust, click here.
